Elderly alleged shooter at Melbourne worksite granted bail
An elderly man accused of a worksite shooting over a business dispute in Melbourne's west this week has been granted bail.
Paul Mannici, 89, allegedly shot truck driver Ray Pasco twice on Wednesday after Mr Pasco paid the great-grandfather to dump rubbish at his scrapyard in Ravenhall, but reportedly not all bills had been paid.
Armed with a handgun and carrying his walking stick, Mr Mannici is accused of waiting for 58-year-old Mr Pasco at a worksite before shooting him in the arm from behind.

Police say the pair wrestled before the victim was allegedly shot again.
The elderly alleged gunman was restrained by witnesses in a citizen's arrest.
Mr Pasco remains in hospital after the incident.
His family says he's terrified and upset that the octogenarian gunman has been released on bail.
Mr Mannici spent two nights in the Melbourne Assessment Prison before being granted bail this afternoon with strict conditions, including being banned from coming within 200 metres of Mr Pasco.
It was his first time in custody.

Defence lawyers said the great-grandfather is the backbone of his family, caring for his elderly wife and while also suffering health conditions including a weak heart and stomach ulcers.
He'll be back in court in March.
Mr Mannici claims the victim assaulted him in the weeks prior to the shooting, which Mr Pasco's family denies.
The case will return to court in March next year.
