Dreamworld on the Gold Coast stays open late after power outage
The cause of a power outage at theme park Dreamworld on the Gold Coast earlier today is still being investigated, however the fun park giant has vowed to stay open until late tonight to compensate those affected.
Devastated guests were unable to use rides until about 1.30pm when power was restored today.
“It was a bit of a pain in the neck,” visitor Andrew Collins told 9NEWS.
“It was such a nice day, there are so many other things that we could’ve done,” he said.
Tourist Sophie Williams was on holiday from the UK and said she was saddened after being told a ride “would be delayed”.
The theme park said in a statement it would stay open until 10pm, and will continue to hold the Screamworld after dark event as planned.
The cause of the outage is still unknown, and no guests were on rides or attractions at the time.
Guests were still free to see the park’s ‘Dreamworld Corroboree’ and ‘Tiger Club Kindy’.
