An Adelaide man who allegedly stole a car and then led police on short pursuit had his flight come to a dramatic conclusion after crashing over the side of a cliff today.
Police said they received reports of a stolen Holden Barina driving erratically through the McLaren Vale area about 11am.
A police patrol spotted the vehicle on the Esplanade at Moana a short time later and gave chase.
But as police closed in, the driver lost control, crashed over the kerb and rolled partially over a cliff overlooking beaches.
The driver received minor leg injuries during the crash and had to be winched to safety by firefighters, witnesses said.
Police have arrested the man, who is now helping them with their inquiries.
