Former German soccer star arrested for 'pushing girlfriend' during argument in Sydney unit
Former international soccer star Dietmar Hamann has been arrested in Sydney over a domestic violence incident.
The German star, who enjoyed a stellar career in Europe, spent Friday night in the police cells.

The 45-year-old is accused of pushing his girlfriend Bridget Gray, 49, during an argument at a home in Randwick.
She was not hurt but he was charged with common assault and an apprehended violence order was taken out to protect her.

Hamann was released after his initial arrest, but breached an AVO by trying to contact his partner again and was thrown into jail. 9News
Hamann was released but just few hours later he was back behind bars, arrested for a second time in Bronte, for breaching the AVO by allegedly calling his girlfriend.
He refused to talk to reporters as he left Surry Hills police station today.
Hamann played in the World Cup Final for Germany, and enjoyed a trophy-laden career. 9News
A World Cup runner-up with Germany in 2002 and a Champions League winner with Liverpool in 2005, the former Bayern Munich, Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester City defensive midfielder is in Australia on an extended holiday. He won 55 caps for Germany.
He is expected to face Waverley Local Court on Thursday.
