After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) at Monash University, Kate began her career with Ten Eyewitness News in her hometown of Melbourne.
There she climbed the ranks from cadet to reporter, covering the Black Saturday bushfires, separation of conjoined twins Trishna and Krishna and 'St Kilda Schoolgirl' scandal. She also wrote for the Herald Sun.
In 2011, Kate moved to Sydney and joined the Nine Network as a reporter on A Current Affair, where she honed her skills writing longer format stories and investigative pieces, before taking up a role in the Nine News Sydney newsroom.
As a reporter for Nine News, Kate delivers breaking news and files stories across all Nine News bulletins and TODAY.
She covered the Lindt Cafe Siege, the 2015 Hunter flooding, 2015 South Coast floods, 2016 Sydney Storms, numerous bushfires, shark attacks and the Royal Commission into Aged Care.
In December 2015, Kate was the first journalist on the ground in Kurnell, reporting live for television and radio, after a tornado devastated the Sydney suburb.
Kate regularly fills-in presenting Nine News Early Edition, Morning News and Nine's Afternoon News as well as 9NewsWatch on Facebook and weather.
In her spare time, Kate loves travelling, writing and spending time at the beach with her husband and son.
