Dancing thief steals charity CFA donation box in Melbourne’s outer suburbs

A man who stole a firefighters’ donation box has been caught mid-boogie on CCTV just moments before his robbery.

Security cameras show the man parking his white Mitsubishi Lancer in a carpark of a service station in Baxter last month and dancing for his female passenger, just moments before he made off with a CFA donation box from inside the store.

The man escaped with the large stand, with a firefighter helmet mounted on top, from the BP Peninsula Link Service Station at around 4.25am on May 15.

He is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-30s and is approximately 185cm tall.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black cap, black tracksuit pants and white runners.

He also has a goatee and a piercing in the left ear.

The theft went unnoticed until nine days later, when the box was due for collection by local fire crews.
