Croc 'arrested' for loitering in street in Darwin
A crocodile was taken into police custody in Darwin overnight, after it was found loitering outside a police station.

The one-metre freshwater beast was reported around 2:30am on the Temple Terrace footpath outside Palmerston Police Station.
Officers responded quickly, albeit cautiously, and worked on a plan to arrest the angry local resident.
Crime scene tape was briefly considered to keep the crook quiet, before police resorted to a blanket and high-vis vest.

It took three officers to hold down the struggling snapper but eventually the offender was arrested and picked up off the ground in a secure hold.
Careful coordination was required to get the croc to the police van, where he was safely shut inside.
He was released from custody and relocated with the help of a ranger, after a snap on the wrist.
