Police find woman who allegedly escaped Gold Coast hotel quarantine

Police have found a young woman who allegedly broke out of hotel quarantine on the Gold Coast.

The 24-year-old was ordered into quarantine in the Sofitel Hotel on Monday however, she was unable to be located the following day.

Police said the woman was found at about 3pm in Caboolture, after they received information from a member of the public.

The woman is currently assisting police with inquires.

An independent review is examining the incident.

The woman had returned one negative COVID-19 test while in quarantine.

However, Queensland Police Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewsk said it was a priority to "make sure she gets another test".
