Australian Open in the clear as all tests come back negative after coronavirus scare
The Australian Open contingent in self-isolation have tested negative to coronavirus after being deemed casual contacts of an infected hotel quarantine worker.
More than 500 players and staff who quarantined at the Grand Hyatt were forced into isolation this week, after a 26-year-old resident support officer from Noble Park contracted COVID-19.

Victoria's testing commander Jeroen Weimar said the Australian Open cohort was the state's "third ring" of outbreak management, with the isolation period acting as an extra precautionary measure.
"As those negative results come through they will be released on the basis they've been very tightly contained within the hotel quarantine system," he said.

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley told 3AW this morning officials were waiting on the results of just 12 more tests - all of which have since come back negative.
Mr Tiley said the Grand Slam event would proceed as normal on Monday.
"Spectators will continue to be allowed in the site, and we are still selling tickets," he said.
"The site will be an extremely safe place."
Victoria recorded no new local COVID-19 cases overnight, with three in hotel quarantine.
Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton today confirmed the quarantine worker had the mutant UK strain of the virus, however everyone tested in the state - including all close contacts - had so far returned negative results.
