Friends mourn death of looksmaxxer Connor Murphy in Thailand
A fitness influencer has reportedly drowned after running into a Thai village lake during a “psychotic episode”.
US content creator Connor Murphy, well known in the looksmaxxing community, was reportedly pulled from the lake behind the home he was renting in Thailand’s Bang Phli District in the Samut Prakan Province on Tuesday.

According to Thai newspaper Thairath, the 32-year-old was “acting erratically” in the district’s village before divers found his body about 20 metres from the lake shore.
A witness told the news outlet that the influencer was spotted “experiencing a psychotic episode” moments before he sprinted towards the body of water.
It is understood he became agitated after a run-in with a security guard who described the 32-year-old as “behaving abnormally”, shouting and “rolling on the road before making gestures of praying to God”.
Murphy reportedly vandalised the home he was renting with paint and damaged furniture and decorations moments before leaving the $950,000 house and heading towards the lake.
Following his death, self-proclaimed awakened looksmaxxer Androgenic took to social media to pay tribute to his close friend, who he described as “the most accommodating and awesome guy”.
“Connor always stood out to me as the most interesting guy I’ve seen on the internet,” the Australian Androgenic, whose real name is not known, said.

“He largely conquered the material world very early - millions of [YouTube] subscribers, rich, good looking with a great physique, an abundance of women
“He began meditating, taking psychedelics, and looking into spirituality and the concept of awakening.”
Androgenic said that in 2020 Murphy had an “ayahuasca trip” that “catapulted him into a state of manic grandiosity”.
“He faked his own death and literally ‘acted’ in disturbed and bizarre ways, but it’s critical to note that he felt mentally amazing throughout this entire period,” Androgenic wrote in the statement posted to X.
“He was eccentric, and at some times he did push the boundary into insanity, but he truly was visionary and a masterful critical thinker.
“Did he take things too far this time? Absolutely, but it’s important to at least note that he had absolutely zero fear of death, and at the end of the day, he lived a great and happy life.”
A search of Murphy’s car reportedly uncovered two unused syringes on the driver’s seat and some white pills.
The fitness influencer had amassed a massive social media following, including more than 2.3 million YouTube subscribers, after a 2016 video in which he posted his natural body transformation to the site, garnering more than 5.8 million views.
Shortly after his death, Murphy’s Instagram page of more than 383,000 followers was flooded with tributes to the influencer.
An autopsy is set to determine the an official cause of death.
