The need to cut Australia's company tax rate has become even more urgent in the era of Donald Trump, the Business Council of Australia believes.

Stepping up support for the government's 10-year plan to drive down the rate from 30 to 25 per cent, chief executive Jennifer Westacott argues the existing level is dissuading foreign and domestic investors.

"The need to cut company tax has become even more urgent in the era of Donald Trump, whose promise to cut America's federal rate to 15 per cent will further keep new investments from Australia, including projects that would boost regional jobs," she writes in The Australian on Saturday.
