Coles recalls more ice creams over fears of metal fragments inside

Coles has expanded its recall of its own brand of ice creams over concerns metal fragments may be found in the products.

Just two weeks ago, Coles recalled a batch of its Mini Classics ice cream in both vanilla and almond flavours with shoppers urged to return the potentially contaminated products to Coles stores.

Now, customers are also being urged not to eat Coles Mini Classics Vanilla six-pack ice creams that carry a best before date of April 17, 2020. 

The affected ice creams were sold in Coles stores and online in Queensland and New South Wales from Wednesday. 

"The recall is due to the potential presence of metal fragments," Coles said in a statement. 

"Customers should not eat these products.

"Food products containing metal may cause injury if consumed.

"Customers who purchased any of these products should return it to their nearest Coles supermarket store for a full refund.

"Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice."
