Tens of thousands of runners brave rainy Sydney for the wettest City2Surf in 12 years
Around 90,000 people took to the rainy streets of Sydney today for the 2025 City2Surf.
The sold-out event was a sea of colour (and rain) as the early birds made the 14km trek from the city's CBD to the iconic Bondi Beach.
The race began from Hyde Park, William Street, where runners both amateur and professional woke early today to meet before making the long pilgrimage around Sydney.
As runners, joggers and walkers alike neared the finish line, the wet weather brought a welcome surprise: a rainbow.
The event this year was sold-out.
The race started with some clouds in the sky but descended into a rainy race as the hours went on.
It was the first wet City2Surf since 2012, according to WeatherZone.

The tired runners at the finish line didn't need to take the traditional dip in the cool Bondi water thanks to the incessant rain.
Major roads were closed across Sydney to allow runners to take to the streets and pound the pavement without cars.
Sydneysider Bronte Oates won the women's race with a time of 45 minutes and 51 seconds.
