Police hunt man who held up servo after realising he didn't have enough cash for chewing gum

Police are hunting for a man who threatened a service station clerk with a knife in Melbourne’s southeast after realising he didn't have enough money to buy a pack of gum.
The man entered the Dandenong service station at 1.45am on Friday, August 29 where he approached the counter to buy some gum but discovered he had no cash.
He left the store to get money from his car before returning, paying for the gum and then suddenly pulling a knife and demanding the attendant empty the cash register.
The robber left the store with cash and got into a nearby station wagon.
Police have released CCTV footage and images of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
