Where is the Aussie dollar still good value for travellers?
People hoping to take a holiday soon should pick their destinations carefully, with the dollar's value tumbling in many parts of the world.
The Australian dollar hit a historic low in value in early April, dipping below US60 cents for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ongoing economic chaos has seen the dollar weaken in other countries around the world too.
Here are some popular tourist destinations where the currency exchange is in your favour - and others where it isn't.
13. Japan
It's unfortunately not a great time to go to Japan.
The value of the dollar has plunged sharply there this month, and is now 11.14 per cent weaker compared to a year ago.
12. United Kingdom
And in the UK, the dollar is fetching 9.61 per cent less in pounds than it was a year ago.
10. Sri Lanka
If you want to visit Sri Lanka, your money is not likely to go as far as in Australia.

8. New Zealand
After the Aussie dollar enjoyed a rare period of value against the New Zealand dollar for the first time in two years in late 2024, travellers again face a currency deficit.
The Australian dollar is 1.11 per cent weaker than its New Zealand counterpart.
7. Hungary
It's a similar story in Europe, where the dollar is currently 9.54 per cent weaker than the euro.
