Elderly driver escapes without serious injury after car ploughed into shop north of Brisbane

An elderly woman has avoided serious injury after her car ploughed into a shop at Bray Park, north of Brisbane, this morning.

It's believed the woman, aged in her 70s, accidentally hit the accelerator and smashed into the hair and beauty salon about 9am.

She was trapped for a short time, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said. 

The woman suffered neck pain, and no one else was injured in the crash.

A two truck was called into to pull the vehicle out of the shop.
