Search for alleged thief behind vicious attack at Queensland shopping centre
A man has allegedly viciously attacked another man who tried to call him out for stealing at a Queensland shopping centre.
Police are calling for help to find the attacker, who fled from the scene after the incident, which occurred at a shopping centre on Moreton Bay Road in Capalaba just before 6pm on Friday, March 11.
Police believe the assault occurred after a 54-year-old Birkdale man approached a man he had seen leaving a store with items he had not paid for.

Police said the thief then allegedly repeatedly punched the 54-year-old, causing him to fall to the ground, before kicking him repeatedly.
The attacker then ran from the scene.
The 54-year-old victim was taken to hospital for his facial injuries.
Police have described the attacker as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 172cm tall with a slim build and brown hair.

He was seen wearing grey shorts, thongs and a black shirt, which was later removed.
Police are urging anyone who recognises him or has information relating to the incident to come forward.
