Campbell Newman overshadows LNP campaign launch

He's the ghost that keeps haunting the LNP.

Former premier Campbell Newman attended today's LNP campaign launch in Brisbane; not as a guest, but in his new role as a media commentator.

Mr Newman stayed for the proceedings to hear Leader Tim Nicholls admit the party has made mistakes in the past and make a pledge to voters.

"The LNP will not sell assets and there will be no forced redundancies in the public service," Mr Nicholls told the launch.

"Queenslanders have spoken and I have listened.

"Now, every time the premier or her union pay and puppet masters talk about the past it's an admission they have no plan for the future."

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull flew in to show his support for the LNP, telling crowds if they win the Queensland election the federal government will be happy to work with the state government.

He claimed only the LNP would deliver key infrastructure projects and accused Ms Palaszczuk of refusing to accept Commonwealth funds.

"We can't persuade Annastacia Palaszczuk to take it," Mr Turnbull said.

Mr Turnbull said Queenslanders had a "clear choice" to elect the LNP.
