Resident found dead, crime scene declared after unit fire on the Gold Coast
An elderly woman has been found dead and a crime scene has been declared after a unit fire on the Gold Coast.
The fire broke out at a complex on Surf Parade in Broadbeach at about 11am today.
When emergency services arrived at the scene, the unit was fully engulfed and the fire was extinguised a short time later.

Authorities found the body during a search of the property.
CPR was performed on the resident but they were declared deceased a short time later.
The person has not been publicly identified.
No other injuries have been reported following the fire.
It is the second major blaze authorities have been called to in Queensland today.
A fire also broke out at a unit on Weaber Street in Clontarf at about 2pm.
Residents were asked to stay inside and keep their windows closed due to the smoke.
