A would-be thief is in hospital after plunging through the roof of the Norman Park Rugby Club during an alleged attempted robbery.

Video reveals the moment the 18-year-old busted through a sky-light as he attempted to break into the building with an accomplice.

The young man was taken to hospital suffering from suspected spinal injuries after the duo’s fourth failed attempt to break into the club.

After the third failed attempt, the pair tried to access the building via the roof, before the teenager fell through the skylight.

Security guards quickly arrived on the scene and called Triple Zero.

The 18-year-old, found flat on the ground, told paramedics he could not feel his legs.

He was taken to hospital for surgery, his friend was arrested.

Neither of the men have been charged at this stage.
