Man charged with attempted murder over Brisbane house fire won't apply for bail

The lawyer for a man charged with multiple attempted murder and domestic violence offences following a Brisbane house fire has called the situation "terrible".

Curtis Shea Mickan, 34, did not appear in Brisbane Arrest Court this morning to face several charges concerning the fire in Wooloowin yesterday.

Two women escaped unharmed after flames engulfed the home about 6.15am yesterday.

Appearing on his client's behalf, Mr Mickan's lawyer Tam Elabbasi told the court his client would not be applying for bail.

Speaking outside of court, Mr Elabbasi said the situation was a "totally unfortunate set of circumstances".

"There's been some damage, somebody's lost everything, it's terrible," Mr Elabbasi said.

Mr Mickan is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of arson and the domestic violence-related offences of assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault and wilful damage relating to earlier incidents at the same address.

The case has been adjourned to June 14.
