Body found on popular Townsville beach 'not suspicious'

Police are treating the death of a person whose body was found on a popular Townsville beach as not suspicious.

Emergency services were called to The Strand after a deceased person was found just before 6.30am.

The body is believed to belong to a male.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told 9News officers were on the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
