Ideal conditions forecast for Australian Open finals weekend

Melbourne's ever-changing seasons have been on full display over the past two weeks at the Australian Open.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the weather forecast for both the men's and women's singles finals, along with the Australia Dayweekend, looks quite promising.

Melbourne Park is set to reach 25 degrees on Saturday, with the temperature likely to hover around 21 degrees by the time the women's final begins at 7.30pm, according to Weatherzone.

The day will be partly cloudy, with winds of 15 to 25km/h expected in the afternoon, easing to light breezes in the evening.

The men's final is expected to be a little warmer, with a high of 29 degrees.

Winds will remain light, becoming south to south-easterly at 15 to 20km/h during the day.

Temperatures should cool slightly by the time the match starts at 7.30pm.

The past two weeks have certainly showcased the fluctuation in Melbourne's weather, with the hottest day recorded at the Australian Open reaching 34.6 degrees on January 20, while the coolest maximum was 21.4 degrees on January 17, according to Weatherzone.
