'Somehow I survived': Young family's miracle escape as car ploughs into Melbourne home
A young family has had a lucky escape after an out-of-control car ploughed into their home Melbourne's south-east overnight.
Ravinder Disaver and his wife were asleep in their Hampton Park home on Hallam Road when a Honda hatchback smashed through their bedroom about 4.30 this morning.
"I was just sleeping, covering my face with the blanket, all of a sudden ... a bang," Disaver said.

Disaver described waking to debris falling on him as the impact of the crash flipped the car on its head.
"Somehow I survived," he said.
His two young daughters were asleep in another room of the house.

The family was taken to hospital but weren't seriously injured.
The 25-year-old driver from Narre Warren and his 26-year-old passenger were taken to The Alfred Hospital with minor injuries and will be questioned by police.
It's understood the car raced down Hallam Road and lost control, before ploughing into a neighbour's fence and crossing Ivan Court, crashing into Disaver's home.

The force of the crash was so severe that debris from the fence across the road smashed into another bedroom window where his young daughters were asleep.
The front of the family's home of two-and-a-half years was reduced to rubble in the crash.
Residents like Hashim Norzi claim the stretch of Hallam Road has become a speedway for hoons.

"I'm just requesting to public to ... drive safely, to be watched for the next person's life as well," he said.
"It's like a race track. They do speed along here quite often," another resident, Evelyn Auka, said.
"I think they need to have more police watch it."
9News understands the car had sped off from patrolling police 15 minutes before.
