David Morris wins aerials silver at Sochi
Australian David Morris has secured Australia's first ever Winter Olympics medal in the men's aerials competition by claiming silver in Sochi.
The Victorian's second place means Australia now has three medals at the Games.
Morris' teammate Lydia Lassila took bronze in the women's aerials on Friday following Torah Bright's snowboard silver in the Sochi halfpipe.
Anton Kushnir from Belarus won gold on Monday night with a score of 134.50.
China's Zongyan Jia took the bronze with 95.06 behind Morris on 110.41.
Morris, 29, was Australia's last genuine medal hope in Russia with only outside prospects remaining for the last week of competition.
He was Australia's lone men's aerial skier.
Melbourne-born Morris qualified second into the Olympic finals before landing his next three jumps to take out the silver medal.
