Celebrity-owned cafe closed after fire in Melbourne

A Melbourne cafe owned by supermodel Megan Gale and former AFL footballer Shaun Hampson will remain closed after a fire tore through the venue.

The blaze broke out in the roof of the Ascot Food and Wine bar about 4.52pm yesterday.

Fire Rescue Victoria said the fire was quickly contained to an area in the kitchen.

The cafe is owned by supermodel Megan Gale and former AFL footballer Shaun Hampson. Nine

The property on Ascot Vale Road in Moonee Ponds, was unoccupied at the time.

The ex-AFL footballer shared the news on Instagram, and said the venue would be closed until further notice.

Police attended and said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
