Major manhunt underway after three men armed with guns rob cash-in-transit vehicle in Marrickville

A major search is underway following an armed robbery in Marrickville, in Sydney’s inner west, after three men confronted two men in a cash-in-transit vehicle. 

Two of the men were armed with guns, but no shots were fired. 

A struggle broke out between the men, and the vehicle suffered extensive damage to the windscreen. 

No one was injured in the altercation. 

The three thieves robbed the men of an amount of cash before fleeing in a black getaway car.

The Metro Shopping Centre has been cordoned off as detectives scour the scene.
