ANZ wins appeal against credit card fees ruling
9NEWS
ANZ Bank has won an appeal against a court ruling that found its $35 late credit card fees were unlawful.
The original ruling was a result of Australia's biggest ever class action, involving 185,000 customers, that claimed fees and charges by Australia's biggest banks, amounting to millions of dollars, were unlawful, extravagant and unconscionable.
Three Federal Court judges today agreed to overturn the 2014 finding by Justice Michelle Gordon.

Maurice Blackburn, the law firm which brought the class action on behalf of customers, had also appealed the ruling in the hope the court would find that other fees and penalties were illegal.
The law firm says it might appeal today's decision in the High Court.
