Amber Rose leads ‘SlutWalk’ march in protest of sexual assault

Thousands of people have taken part in Amber Rose’s “SlutWalk” protest in Los Angeles.

Rose, an actress and the ex-girlfriend of rapper Kanye West, led the rally through closed-off streets in the city today.

Donning a bright pink sequinned cape, emblazoned with the words “Captain Save A Hoe”, the 33-year-old was joined by Blac Chyna, the mother of Robert Kardashian’s daughter, for the event.

It is the third consecutive year the protest has been held, with the purpose geared towards raising awareness about sexual injustice and gender inequality.

“The Amber Rose SlutWalk aims to impact and uplift, while shifting the paradigm of rape culture,” the movement’s mission statement reads.

It was launched by Rose after a Canadian police officer reportedly claimed in 2011 that women “should stop dressing like sluts in order to not be victimised.”

Many participants in this year’s SlutWalk took to social media to capture their experience.

“If you believe in equality you are a feminist,” one young protester’s sign read.
