Pick a winner: Allen’s puts new lolly flavour up for vote
Allen’s Lollies is calling on the public to decide on a new flavour for one of its classic confections.
The fruit and cream lolly will receive a makeover determined by vote, with the options much more adventurous than the standard strawberries and cream or peach and cream varieties.
Apple and cream, blackberry and cream and yuzu and cream- inspired by the tangy Japanese citrus fruit- have been shortlisted as flavours for the remixed version of the confectionary classic.
Sweet tooths will have one week to decide on their new favourite lolly through the Allen’s website.
Voting will close on Tuesday January 23, with the triumphant treat available at Woolworths supermarkets from mid-February.
Allen’s was founded by Melbourne confectioner Alfred Weaver Allen in 1891, and has since become the nation’s most popular brand of sweets.
