Resident Kayden Tange recalled the moment of impact.

"We were just inside having a couple of drinks and we heard the tyres squealing and then a big bang and a second bang," Tange told 9News yesterday.

"I opened the door, pulled him out, he's just stumbling."

The alleged driver, Matthew Puccini, was taken to Logan Hospital with minor injuries.

He spoke to crime reporter Bailey Kenzie as he arrived home.

"I'm a bit shook-up to be honest with you, I don't know. I sort of had a bit of a black out ... had a few drinks and I think that is a lot to do with it," he said.
