Child, 4, critical after alleged hit-and-run in south-western NSW

A child is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in an alleged hit-and-run in NSW's south-west this morning.

Police allege a four-year-old child was hit by a car on Dick Road in Lavington, Albury at 7am before the driver fled the scene.

Paramedics attended the scene and treated the boy for a head injury before he was taken to Albury Hospital in a critical condition.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing with police wishing to speak to the driver of a white utility seen in the area at the time of the incident.
