Gunman on run after Adelaide shooting

Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in Adelaide this morning.

Just after 9am, emergency services were called to Redward Avenue in Lightview after reports of gunshots in the area.

Witnesses said they saw a number of men, one of whom had a limp, run from a property on the street shortly after hearing two gunshots.

When officers arrived at the location they discovered the 42-year-old victim hiding in the yard of a different house, with a bullet wound to his leg.

The gunman had left the scene when officers arrived but police are confident they know his identity.

The victim was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have confirmed the victim is not cooperating and they believe this was not a random attack.
