Family of 'vibrant' teen killed in Sydney crash say his death leaves 'void that cannot be filled'

The family of a "vibrant" teenager killed in a horror crash in Sydney say his death "leaves a void that cannot be filled".

Addison Bhimjiani, 17, was killed alongside with friend Matty Simpson, 16, when the Nissan 200SX they were in hit a power pole on Windsor Road in McGraths Hill in the city's north-west.

The accident happened at about 9.45pm on Monday night.

The pair are believed to have been on the way home from the gym.

His family said they "remember and celebrate the joy he brought to everyone" amid their "devastating loss."

"Addison, known for his vibrant spirit, kindness, and contagious smile, touched the lives of all who knew him," his mother Penny Randall said in a statement on behalf of the family.

"He was a beacon of light in our family and community, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled."

They said they will hold a memorial service to celebrate his "remarkable life."

The driver of the car, 17-year-old Caleb Nolan, was taken to hospital with chest injuries.

Police are investigating if speed played a part in the crash
