Abbott applauds shining Diamonds

Self-confessed "netball dad" Tony Abbott has applauded the Australian Diamonds for their 11th World Cup win.
There had been plenty of discussion in the prime ministerial household of "netball tragics" about the team's prospects over the past week, Mr Abbott told parliament on Monday.
"As always, we can trust the women to do us proud in sport," he said, announcing the Diamonds would get a parliamentary reception in the near future.

The defending world champions defeated arch-rivals New Zealand 58-55 in a fiery and physical decider in Sydney on Sunday.
