Landlord and tenant clash after surveillance concerns exposed

Things have gone from bad to worse for a Brisbane tenant who spoke out on A Current Affair about security cameras being installed inside her home.

"It's just unnecessary the amount of surveillance," Grace previously told A Current Affair.

After speaking out, Grace said she has now been forced to pack her belongings after she was issued an eviction notice yesterday.

Her former housemate, Tom, was evicted from the house last Friday, and she's been told she has to vacate by midnight tonight.

Given the short notice, Grace said she asked her former housemate Tom to help her clear out her room.

She said not long after, she received an upsetting phone call.

"I was in my room and I got a call from Tom saying the landlord, or who we assume is the landlord, forced him and screamed him off the property," Grace said.

It wasn't long before Grace was confronted by Nick Keramos, the landlord of the property, alongside his father and house cleaner, Adam Keramos.

"The landlord came up to my room and started knocking very aggressively," Grace claimed.

"I opened the door and he pushed himself into my room and got in my face. Then I pulled out my phone to start recording and he snatched it out of my hand."

Grace made her way to a nearby side street to get away from the house and called the A Current Affair office to recount what had occurred.

"He [Nick] was just threatening me with police action and telling me I had to get Tom off the property," Grace alleged.

A Current Affair reporter Pippa Bradshaw rushed to Grace's location where the tenant reiterated her intentions to leave the house within the time allocated to her.

"I was doing what they wanted me to [do], get out," Grace said.

Nick left the house in his car soon after the alleged incident, once again leaving Adam to speak with A Current Affair.

After being questioned on whether Grace had her phone removed from her, Adam denied any wrongdoing.

"I didn't even see it," Adam said.

After mocking Grace's tears, Adam was then asked about his own behaviour.

"I'm happy with the way I have behaved because I haven't done anything wrong, Adam said.

After Nick left the property, Grace went back inside to remove the rest of her personal items from her room.

Police arrived shortly after.

It wasn't just security cameras that had concerned Grace and Tom, having also accused the landlord of confiscating tenants' kitchenware and padlocking it in a room.

Grace also said the smoke alarm in her room and other areas of the house had never been replaced, despite making constant sounds.

Grace attended Stafford Police Station this morning where she filed a report on the incident.

"I'm feeling quite drained, somewhat powerless, but at least glad to be out of the situation officially," Grace said.

"Unless you're willing to put up with the surveillance, the intrusion of privacy, the constant construction ...you're better off going anywhere else really."

Queensland Police said they are aware of the incident and have conducted inquiries into what occurred.
