A Current Affair

On June 6, 2019, A Current Affair broadcast a report about a Melbourne woman, Lydia Abdelmalek, who was sentenced to jail after impersonating an Aussie soap star online to prey on female victims. That report inadvertently included footage of a house in Lalor, said to be Abelmalek’s home, which was included in error. A Current Affair clarifies that the Lalor house pictured in our report is not connected in any way to Ms Abdelmalek or the activities for which she was charged and convicted. There is also no suggestion that the residents of the house shown are connected in any way to Ms Abdelmalek or the subject matter of our report. A Current Affair apologises unreservedly for the error.
