'Don't wait for the RBA': Finance expert weighs in on interest rate predictions

Mortgage holders could be better off if the ASX's forecast on interest rates is right.
Market experts are predicting four cuts next year, with the first arriving as soon as February.
But 9Money expert Effie Zahos told A Current Affair there were no certainties.
"Should [a rates cut] happen, the first rate cut would be about $100 on the average mortgage of $600,000," Zahos said.

"It could be eight to even 12 months until you see the impact of all of these rate cuts flow through.
"If you're not on a good rate, don't wait for the RBA, go and look for cheaper rates now.
"There are plenty under that 6 per cent mark, so talk to a lender or a broker, but get a better deal."
