Driver's scuffle after honking at motorist who cut him off

When Sean Beasley honked at a driver who cut him off, he never expected what would unfold.

At the next red light Beasley said the other driver got out of his car and the pair got in a scuffle, with Beasley claiming he was struck and grabbed around the throat.

After making a complaint to police, Beasley discovered his alleged attacker was off-duty Sergeant Glen Morey and an internal investigation found there was insufficient evidence to press charges.

Morey denies Beasley's version of events.

Beasley filed a complaint with the WA Corruption and Crime Commission, which says there is sufficient evidence to charge him to test Beasley's claims.

A Current Affair spoke to Beasley and and his daughter Sky, who was also in the car.

Statement from WA Police

The WA Police Force, Internal Affairs Unit determined there was insufficient evidence to prosecute any criminal offences. A managerial investigation ensued and action was taken against the officer in accordance with the Managerial Intervention Model. The complainant was advised of these outcomes.
