The family had travelled several times before, so they booked a holiday to Disneyland in Japan.
But as they were boarding a domestic flight in Japan, Ryan, who’s non-verbal, had what his parents describe as a sudden fear of flying and a severe meltdown at the gate.
Ryan has been declared unfit to fly and will need a medivac flight to get back home.
A GoFundMe page has been set up. The page says it is raising money to go towards specialist medical transport to bring Ryan safely back to Australia, accommodation and living expenses while Brad and Mel remain in Japan, and medical and logistical costs associated with Ryan’s return home.
