The 70-year-old modelling impresario, who was behind the supermodel phenomenon and once married to Linda Evangelista, was confronted by 60 Minutes Australia at a seaside restaurant on the island of Balearic Island of Ibiza.

When allegations of sexual assault and rape by the 12 women featured in the program were put to him, he responded: "I have lawyers."

Mr Marie threatened to call the police and then calmly tucked into his seafood salad. He ended the exchange by saying: "Have a beautiful day …. you have nothing better to do huh?"

This Sunday night, a dozen former models accuse Mr Marie, the former European president of Elite, of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape. They are now cooperating with a French investigation into the allegations, which began last September.

"We're not 17 anymore. We're not children anymore… we know what happened to us … and we do know who did it. So, we'll see you in court".
