'Your parcel is on the roof': Delivery company's pathetic effort goes viral

When UK man Benjamin Ward arrived home to find a "sorry we missed you" slip from a courier, he didn't expect this.

The delivery driver had somehow got his parcel stuck on the roof, and had written that on the card.

"Today I called to deliver your one parcels," the card read. "It was left stuck on roof sorry."

Ward, from Brighton, took a photo of the card and posted it to Twitter where it took off, being retweeted more than 1400 times.

But the company did at least send the incompetent courier back with a ladder to retrieve the parcel, in addition to tweeting Benjamin with profuse apologies.

Mr Ward told the UK's Mirror that he hadn't been prepared for the amount of attention the post had generated.

"I shared it on Twitter expecting a few retweets and it just went crazy," he said.

"They sent him back to get it down with a ladder and say sorry. It was super awkward," he added.

Mr Ward also saw the funny side of the situation, and declined to push the matter any further.

“It was more funny than anything else, so I don’t really want to make a big deal of it.”
