Former WWF wrestler “Luscious” Johnny Valiant has died after being hit by a pickup truck in Pittsburgh in the US.
Valiant, whose real name is Tommy Sullivan, was hit by a truck when he ran across a busy road.
"We do have witnesses. There was other traffic at the time, so we were able to speak with people who actually witnessed the accident," Ross Township Detective Brian Kohlepp said.
WWE wrestlers have paid tribute to the 71-year-old.
Valiant twice won the WWF Tag Team championship alongside his stage-brother Jimmy Valiant, first in 1974 and then again in 1979.
He left WWF, now known as WWE, in 1988, just before Wrestlemania IV.
After his wrestling career, he went on to manage the likes of Hulk Hogan in the early 1980s and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.
He was also known to do commentary for the sport.
