Woman steals ball from young baseball fan

A crazed baseball fan has appeared on Japanese TV wrestling a ball from a child moments after it was gifted to him by a pro-player.

The young boy's joy at being singled out by the Yokohama DeNa Bay Stars fielder was swiftly robbed as the much-older spectator swooped, prying the souvenir from his hands.

The grinning thief can barely contain her excitement as she turns to the crowd to show off her prize.

But her celebrations are met with blank expressions by disapproving fans from both the Bay Stars fans and opposing team the Chunichi Dragons.

The woman has been widely criticised over social media for the callous act.

There is some speculation that she may be the boy's mother but that is yet to be proven.
