Woman captures lightning strike in stunning detail

A Swedish woman who thought she was filming a tranquil vista instead captured an incredible video of nature's fury when lightning struck just metres away.

Ingela Tanneskog was filming a lake at Blaiken Storuman as dark storm clouds rolled away and golden sunlight streamed in, revealing a double rainbow.

But Mother Nature turned from nice to nasty in the blink of an eye as a bolt of lightning struck the shore, erupting in a blinding fireball in the trees.

The strike, which is captured in stunning detail in the video, sent Ms Tanneskog tumbling backwards in shock.

"The thunderstorm had just passed by and the sun broke through and it was a double rainbow that emerged .... Had not expected this!" she wrote on her YouTube channel.

The video, which was posted online last week, has already been viewed nearly 600,000 times.
