Will this be the best goal of 2015?

A year after little-known Irish woman Stephanie Roche finished as runner-up in FIFA’s goal of the year , there may be another unlikely bolter for the Puskas award in 2015.

Birtalan Botond plays in the Hungarian second division for Bekescsaba when he scored a goal that needs to be seen to be believed.

With his team 2-1 down, Botond made a late run to the edge of the box as a cross came in, slightly behind him.

It was then that the 25-year-old produced one for the ages, swinging his right leg behind him to pull off an inch perfect back-heel scorpion kick that lobbed the keeper and crossed the line off the underside of the cross bar.

The jaw-dropping goal fittingly earned his side a point.

Botond’s effort will surely be amongst the FIFA Puskas award nominees at the end of the year.

If by some miracle it’s not, then fans are in for treat because there will have to be some outrageous goals for the Hungarian to miss out.
