WikiLeaks reveals President Barack Obama’s personal email address

US President Barack Obama’s personal email address has been disclosed by WikiLeaks in its latest data dump of hacked emails.

The email address ‘bobama@ameritech.net’ was used by Mr Obama during the 2008 election campaign, CNBC reported.

Mr Obama used the address to send five emails, mostly from his mobile phone, to John Podesta, the head of Hillary Clinton’s current campaign.

In one email sent on the night of the election results, Mr Podesta sent the imminent President a warning regarding the upcoming “G-20 meeting”.

"I don't want to bug you today," Mr Podesta wrote.

"The memo pasted below concerns a possible invitation to the G-20 meeting on November 15."

He went on to strongly advise Mr Obama to reject the invitation on the proviso of a “unanimous recommendation” by campaign staffers.

"On the chance that President Bush would raise this with you tonight, I wanted you to be aware that it is the unanimous recommendation for your advisors that you NOT attend. As long as you are aware of that, we can review the contents of the memo tomorrow."

The email included a list of “pros and cons” of attending the meeting, held just 11 days after the election.

“It (would) afford you an early and efficient opportunity to evaluate the positions of leaders from other economically important countries," Mr Obama’s staff wrote of the event’s benefits.

Another opinion highlighted the “limited influence on the outcome of the meeting” and warned the President of being perceived as weak if they summit failed to address ‘grave systemic problems’.  

"With at most very limited influence on the outcome of the meeting, you would be associated with it. If, for example, the meeting is widely regarded as an anemic response to grave systemic problems, you will be tied to that perception."

It is unknown whether or not the address is still active.
