Professional fighter ‘War Machine’ taken into custody after brutal porn star bashing

Fugitive mixed martial arts fighter Jonathan ‘War Machine’ Koppenhaver has been caught by police at a hotel outside Los Angeles a week after beating porn star girlfriend Christy Mack.

KTLA reported that Mr Koppenhaver was taken into custody by Simi Valley police and the US Marshals Service at around 6.45am (AEST).

Mr Koppenhaver did not put up a fight when being taken into custody, and was transported to the Ventura County Jail for processing.

He had been on the run from police since August 8, when he allegedly assaulted pornographic actress Christy Mack and a friend at Ms Mack’s home in Las Vegas.

Ms Mack suffered 18 broken bones and a ruptured liver in the brutal attack, in which she claims Mr Koppenhaver threatened to sexually assault her.

Mr Koppenhaver took to Twitter to defend himself whilst evading police, tweeting “I only wish that man hadn’t been there and that Christy & I would be happily engaged.”

Despite the professional fighter’s claims that he and Ms Mack were still in a relationship, she claimed that their relationship had ended in May.
