Road rage driver’s miracle escape from Beijing police

Nobody likes being stuck in traffic, but one Beijing driver has taken it to new extremes in a video going viral online - and the police were not impressed.

Caught in a traffic stop, the driver of a small red car is filmed incessantly beeping the horn and driving forward and backwards, the engine revving as police surround the vehicle.

Officers pull the person filming the incident from their silver Hyundai as the red car veers back and forth.

Despite their best efforts, police are unable to halt the driver's rampage, with even the windscreen and windows proving impervious to their batons.

One officer is seen body-checking the car, caught on the bonnet as it pushes forward.

Finally fed up with it all, the driver revs the engine and slams forward, hitting the Hyundai and a nearby wall before screaming down the road ahead of the police vehicles.

It was not clear when the footage was filmed, but it has gone viral after it was posted yesterday by Steve George, the editor of That's Beijing magazine.
