Earthquake strikes Vanuatu

Vanuatu has been rocked by a strong earthquake.
The US Geographical Survey reports a 6.1 quake shook the island 33km from Port Vila, the Pacific nation’s capital.

The quake hit at 9.31am at a depth of 21km.
Witnesses have tweeted about it being "scary".
There is no current tsunami threat from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.
